This blog is meant to do two things:

1-communicate what God is teaching me through my studies, life, and ministry
2-provide an avenue of contact to the Soldiers of the Washington National Guard, my family, and friends

My name is Andre Ong.  I’m married to Angela. We have four kids:

Nick: Married to Teresa, father of two, Bradan and Nick Jr.

Brad: Married to Amanda and a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton.

Corey: High school grad…

Bella: Our youngest. She’s a 4th grader, homeschooled.

I am a regional chaplain for the Washington National Guard and the Battalion Chaplain for the 1-168 AVN, 66th TAC stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA.

My formal education includes Moody Bible Institute, Master’s Divinity School, and Liberty Theological Seminary.

I believe that Jesus Christ, God’s son, died for our sins and rose again.  His death and resurrection means we can have full forgiveness of all our sins and certainty of heaven, if we follow Jesus.  I believe the Bible is God’s inerrant, complete revelation to us.  I believe the Holy Spirit is real, active, and involved in the lives of God’s children, adopted through faith in Jesus Christ.

Our family mission is to glorify God by ministering to families, especially military families.

We met at the yellow ribbon event on the 10th. You wanted information on Eastern Orthodox Christianity within the military. Here is a parent site that has a bunch of links to various Orthodox resources for military personnel.
